Purchasing a Puppy from Our Kennel
Purchasing a Puppy from Our Kennel

The success of puppy selection is reflected in the pairing of a satisfied owner and a happy dog.
We want to ensure that our puppies go to good homes with responsible owners, therefore they can only be purchased following a personal meeting and mutual acquaintance. During this meeting, it becomes clear what purpose the prospective owner has in mind for an Irish Terrier, and under what conditions the dog will be kept. In every litter there are puppies with a more driven temperament and strong working instinct, which we are happy to recommend for hunting or sporting purposes, as well as more easy-going individuals that can also be suitable for first-time terrier owners. For this reason, the “see it, fall in love, and take it home” approach does not necessarily apply in our kennel. We consider it more important to realistically assess each prospective owner and to recommend a puppy that has the greatest chance of becoming the right match.
Puppies may leave for their new homes at 10 weeks of age. By that time, they will have received two vaccinations, multiple deworming treatments, and preventive treatment against ticks and fleas. They are delivered with an FCI pedigree, microchip, pet passport, and a freshly trimmed coat. The puppies are vaccinated according to the latest Western European vaccination protocols, allowing their new owners to take them home fully protected with both parvovirus and combination vaccinations. All puppies are sold with a breeder's contract, which covers vaccination requirements, hereditary diseases, and provisions regarding any future transfer of ownership.
We continuously document our puppies' growth and development. Each owner receives, as a gift, a video featuring the most memorable and special moments from their puppy's first weeks of life.
We place great emphasis on raising our puppies, as breeders carry a significant responsibility for their physical and mental development. As a veterinarian, I am able to provide continuous professional veterinary supervision from the very beginning. Equally important to us is ensuring that puppies are exposed to as many positive experiences and environmental stimuli as possible during the critical socialisation period between 4 and 12 weeks of age. This sensitive developmental stage plays a crucial role in shaping a dog's future temperament. By providing a wide variety of experiences, we help our puppies grow into well-balanced companions, whether they become family pets, sporting dogs, or hunting partners. During their first weeks, puppies will have the opportunity to meet many different people and encounter a variety of animals, including cats, horses, poultry, and other household pets. They will also be introduced to game, and upon request, their natural instincts can be evaluated through short drag-trail exercises. Our puppies regularly interact with other dogs, travel by car, and become familiar with everyday household sounds such as the vacuum cleaner. Thanks to carefully conducted noise-conditioning exercises, they are also introduced to sounds resembling gunfire, which helps reduce the likelihood of developing fears of fireworks or thunderstorms later in life.
The puppies are also accustomed to being placed on a grooming table every day, helping ensure that standing on a trimming table at the groomer's or an examination table at the veterinarian later in life will be a familiar and stress-free experience.
After receiving such a rich variety of early experiences, our puppies have every opportunity to develop into confident, emotionally stable, and well-balanced Irish Terriers with the strong character for which the breed is renowned.
In autumn 2025, Wallegra and Trooper welcomed their litter, representing the fifth generation. Footage of the seven male puppies can be viewed on our YouTube channel.
