Purchasing a puppy at our kennel

A successful puppy choice is reflected in the harmony between a happy dog and a fulfilled owner.

We are committed to ensuring that our puppies go to reliable, caring homes. For this reason, puppies are available only after a personal meeting and getting to know the prospective owners. During this meeting, we discuss the purpose for which the owner wishes to have an Irish Terrier and the conditions in which the dog will live. Each litter has puppies with different temperaments: some, due to their curiosity and drive, are particularly suited for hunting or sports, while calmer puppies are ideal for first-time terrier owners. At our kennel, the principle of “see it, love it, take it home” does not apply; we prioritize matching puppies realistically with the owners who are best suited for them.

Puppies are ready to go home at 10 weeks of age, fully vaccinated (following the latest Western European protocols), dewormed multiple times, treated with flea and tick preventive, microchipped, registered with pedigree, issued a passport, and freshly trimmed. They can be purchased with a breeding contract covering vaccinations, hereditary health, and any future transfer conditions.

We document their growth and development continuously. Each new owner receives a DVD featuring the most beautiful and memorable moments of their puppy’s early life.

We place great emphasis on early upbringing because a breeder carries significant responsibility for a puppy’s physical and mental development.
As a veterinarian, I am able to provide continuous veterinary supervision throughout the puppies’ early development. In addition, we place special emphasis on the critical period of social sensitivity, during which we deliberately provide puppies with a broad and varied range of experiences. This phase, spanning approximately from 4 to 12 weeks of age, is crucial for their physical and psychological development. During this sensitive period, we ensure rich and varied experiences, laying the foundation for well-balanced, stable dogs capable of becoming pleasant companions, family dogs, hunting dogs, or sport dogs.

Throughout their upbringing, the puppies will have the opportunity to meet a wide variety of people, including children ranging from toddlers to 6–8 years of age, as well as individuals in uniform. They will be introduced to different domestic animals such as cats, horses, and poultry. They will also be exposed to game, and upon request, their aptitude can be assessed through short food-drag tracking exercises. The puppies will interact with other dogs and will regularly experience car travel. They will become familiar with everyday household sounds, including vacuum cleaners, and through controlled gunfire exposure, they are expected to develop confidence and resilience toward loud noises such as fireworks and thunder.

They are gently accustomed to being handled on tables from an early age, so that visits to the groomer or vet will feel comfortable and stress-free.

Through this careful upbringing, they are given every opportunity to develop into confident, well-balanced Irish Terriers with stable temperaments.
